MPB Technologies EFA-P21F

The EFA-P21 F is a spectrally-flattened erbium-doped fiber power amplifier operating in the 1550-nm region and delivering more than 21 dBm of saturated output power.
The stages of erbium-doped fiber, separated by an all-fiber gain-flattening filter, are pumped with three 980nm laser diodes. The EFA-P21 F has been optimized for a composite input signal of 0dBm, equally spread over the 1530nm to 1565nm operational wavelength range.
Under this input condition, the amplifier is specified to have a minimum composite output power of 21dBm, with maximum gain fluctuations of ± 0.5 dB. Different composite input power or wavelength-channel distribution can induce some gain tilt.
Adjusting the power of the input channels allows to compensate for such gain tilt.
Adjusting the amplifier pump power also helps to compensate for some gain tilt.
