Overview
The Enercon Dyne-a-mite HP air plasma surface treater uses arc plasma to
treat non-conductive surfaces in preparation for improved bonding with
adhesives, coatings and inks. The surfaces treatable include rubbers,
silicones, plastics, and glass.
Condition
The Dyne-a-mite HP was removed from a printing line that was
acquired from a working pharmaceuticals manufacturer in Massachusetts.
This treatment module, two heads, and cabling are in good cosmetic
condition including the treating insulated housing. There are signs of
wear on the body and paint, but this has not hindered the functionality
of the instrument.
Testing & Evaluation
New Life Scientific technicians powered the plasma treater, ensured that
the keypad does not stick and the fan powers, but did not test the
plasma emission or heads. There are two deluxe heads attached to the Dyne-a-mite HP that use
interchangeable electrodes. The treatment width is 2.5-3.5 inches and a
gap of 1/8-3/8 inches. The instrument features a lock-out safety, orange
treatment housing, and the appropriate cabling attachments. The housing
was originally mounted on a printing conveyor line.
